The first picture is a picture of a metal dragon that was one of the first big displays. This represents innovation because Kevin, who was a stranger we met at Renwick, explained to us that wealthy people that work in Silicon Valley actually fund a lot of pyrotechnic exhibits like this one, which is a combination of art and engineering. They take an ordinary art exhibit, lets say an artist making the dragon, and innovate it so that at the actual festival, it shoots out fire from its mouth and moves its head as well. This inspired us to think outside the box, and showed us the possibility of what happens when art and engineering come together to form something remarkable!

The last picture is of a costume. It was part of an exhibit where many outfits were created from artists from around the globe. This one in particular is from an artist in India, and is a play on the cultural clothing they wear in that part of the world. It is an innovation on culture, because instead of the outfit being a tradition Indian outfit, the artist still managed to keep the intricate patterns and bright colors but put a more modern twist to it. |
